Method
With the flat side of a knife or a wooden cooking spoon, press firmly on the cardamom pods to bruise them. Pour wine and water in a large pot and add cardamom, cloves, allspice, star anise, peppercorns, cinnamon and sugar and bring to boil. Add orange slices and cook let simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Optionally add rum. Serve the mulled wine hot and decorate each cup with a cinnamon stick.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine Rapunzel Rotwein Nero d´Avola IGT
- 400 ml water
- 2 cardamom pods
- 7 whole cloves
- 7 allspice berries
- 5 star anise
- 6 corns of Rapunzel green pepper in coconut vinegar salt water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 tbs Rapunzel Cristallino whole cane sugar
- 1 orange, washed and cut into slices
- 4 cinnamon sticks, to garnish cups
- dash of rum
