The world of insects is spectacular: Bumblebees are not fat but incredibly muscular; some butterflies fly 4,000 km from Europe to south of the Sahara, and moths have the best sense of smell in the whole animal kingdom.
Biologist, Lydia Reimann, delves into the unknown world of meadow dwellers and explains their immense importance for life on this planet.
Meanwhile, agricultural expert, Markus Moser, demonstrates solutions for insect-promoting agriculture. Leaving strips of old grass, near-natural grazing and the cultivation of Babenhauser Vesen, an old type of grain, are just a few examples of ways to combat species extinction. Both work for the Stiftung KulturLandschaft Günztal, which has been campaigning for more nature conservation in the Günztal for 30 years.
